From Advisory to Action: How FLINTpro Leveraged Recruitment to Enter New Markets
Discover how Climate People partnered with FLINTpro to overcome their hiring challenges and build a successful go-to-market team in the US, driving significant growth.
FLINTpro has developed a dynamic software platform that empowers organizations to comprehend and efficiently manage greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions related to the Food, Agriculture, and Land Use sectors. The platform simplifies processing intricate large data sets, employs cutting-edge scientific and analytical models, and conducts advanced simulations. This allows customers to effectively communicate outcomes to policymakers, stakeholders, and scientific teams in visually engaging formats.
Funding Stage: Series A
Climate Sector: Food, Agriculture, and Land Use | Intelligence and Adaptation
Number of Employees: 20-30
BACKGROUND
FLINTpro was founded and grew up as an Australian-based company. In May 2023, they secured a Series A round of funding earmarked for US expansion. In June 2023, FLINTpro appointed Tina Morris as its CEO. FLINTpro had a strong technical and scientific team, but in order to expand, they needed to build out their go-to-market (GTM) team in the US.
Through a mutual connection, Tina met Climate People’s Founder, Brendan Andersen, during Climate Week NYC 2023 and engaged us to lead the search for a VP of Business Development and Head of Product.
HIRING CHALLENGES
FLINTpro had no internal talent or HR function in the US with limited bandwidth to recruit on their own

FLINTpro was ideally looking to hire leaders into the BD and Product functions with industry experience and knowledge of the market they are serving
Speed to hire was important; they had major milestones to hit and needed to fill the roles quickly but with the right talent
FLINTpro had limited name recognition in the U.S.

ADVISORY SERVICES PROVIDED
Calibration around the right seniority level for each search
As an external partner, understanding the full scope of a company can be challenging. At Climate People, we compensate by conducting thorough due diligence early on, ensuring accurate and appealing representation of our clients.
“Brendan spent a lot of time understanding our company to represent us well in the market,” said Tina Morris, CEO of FLINTpro. “When talking to candidates, this was beneficial because by the time I spoke to them, they had a very good feel for our company, which was efficient and brought the right candidates to us.”
Early-stage hiring can be difficult. Small teams often handle tasks that larger organizations have dedicated recruitment teams for. We understand this and are intentional about identifying client bottlenecks and creating tailored talent solutions.
“Working with Brendan felt like a partnership,” Tina said. “Despite being external, the working relationship with Climate People felt integrated with our team.”
Our consulting services emphasize creating strong company values and using them to guide future hires. This principle remained central to our advisory work with FLINTpro.
“The main value from this partnership was the great talent added to our team, driving value creation as a series A startup,” Tina said. “Brendan matched the right people to our needs and company condition. They were experienced and the right fit.”
The most important thing our clients walk away with is the tools, processes, and knowledge to take hiring on as they continue to grow and flourish.
“I learned a lot from Brendan! He has urgency, empathy, and a deep understanding of the challenges in hiring,” Tina said. “It felt like he was a member of our own team.”
