Hey everyone! I am super excited to share with you all about my recently released LinkedIn Learning course on getting a job in climate. This course is a result of months of research and hard work, and it's very close to my heart because it's about inspiring people to take action towards reversing the impacts of climate change by pursuing career opportunities in the climate sector. In this post, I will give you a brief overview of the course content and share some insights on what inspired me to create it.
My LinkedIn Learning course on Getting a Job in Climate comprises 16 chapters that take you on a journey towards finding a fulfilling career in the climate space. The chapters cover various topics, from identifying the demand for climate jobs, to providing practical tips on writing your climate-resume, networking, and preparing for interviews. One unique feature of this course is that it is not just another 'gloom-and-doom' take on climate change. Instead, it emphasizes inspiring people into action by highlighting the solutions that are shaping the climate sector.
Why the need for this course? Well, as the impacts of climate change become more visible, so too does the demand for climate solutions. Every industry and field is affected by climate change, which means that opportunities to work on climate exist across various industries. Yet, many job seekers face barriers to getting into the field - from believing that they lack climate experience to dealing with imposter syndrome. This course dispels those myths and provides readers with tangible actions they can take to break into the field.
One of the reasons why I created this course is to encourage more people to pursue fulfilling careers in the climate sector. There are so many innovative solutions being developed in this space, and it's crucial to have a diverse workforce that can bring in fresh perspectives and contribute to the development of long-term solutions. By sharing what I've learned over the years, I hope to inspire more people to take action, and in turn, create a domino effect of more people joining the climate workforce.
Another unique aspect of this course is that it doesn't just focus on climate jobs but is also guided by the idea of reversing eco-anxiety. It's easy to get bogged down by the negative headlines surrounding climate change. That's why this course encourages readers to focus on the opportunities created by governments and businesses working towards meeting net-zero targets. With so many solutions in the pipeline, the climate sector is one of the most hopeful industries of our time.
My LinkedIn Learning course on Getting a Job in Climate is a result of my passion for inspiring people to take action and work towards reversing the impacts of climate change. I hope that you can take the course and share it with your network, so that together, we can create a world where every sector is climate-smart. Let's work towards an equitable, sustainable and resilient future by getting millions of people involved in finding climate solutions. The potential impact of our collective efforts cannot be underestimated. So let's roll up our sleeves and get to work!
