Climate People Is A Proud Member of 1% For The Planet
One Percent for the Planet is an international organization that allows members to collaborate with environmental non-profits. 1% For The Planet pairs businesses and individuals with approved environmental nonprofits, creating partnerships that amplify impact. Climate People is a proud member and donates 1% of every placement fee to an environmental nonprofit of the candidate's choosing.
Climate People’s motto is “we’re stronger together.” We don’t consider ourselves typical recruiters, we’re impact partners. Climate change is the most important issue facing humanity today and we see our work as part of a larger solution. Through candidate placement and client collaboration, we can place mission-driven individuals in influential ClimateTech roles that will ultimately decarbonize the global economy and lessen the harmful effects of climate change. Our 1% For The Planet initiatives take this one step further, we truly believe that when mission-driven individuals, companies, and organizations join forces, we can create a profound and lasting impact.
We've selected a few stellar 1% For The Planet non-profit organizations that fully exemplify our diversity and inclusion initiatives, working to enhance: racial equity, environmental justice, food security, LGBTQ+ inclusion, indigenous rights, renewable energy adoption, and more.
Meet The Non-profits:
The Honnold Foundation:
The Honnold Foundation provides grants to organizations advancing solar energy access all over the world. They look for partners whose work reduces environmental impact and increases social and economic equality and who demonstrate strong ties to the communities they serve. Founded by the professional rock climber, Alex Honnold, they envision a world where all people have equal access to opportunity and live in balance with the environment.
Soul Fire Farm:
Soul Fire Farm is an Afro-Indigenous-centered community farm committed to uprooting racism and seeding sovereignty in the food system. They raise and distribute life-giving food as a means to end food apartheid. Their food program reaches over 10,000 people each year, including farmer training for Black and Brown growers, reparations and land return initiatives for northeast farmers, food justice workshops for urban youth, doorstep harvest delivery for food-insecure households, as well as system and policy education for public decision-making
Environmental Voter Project
Environmental Voter Project uses behavioral-backed psychology to identify inactive environmentalists and transform them into consistent voters to build and strengthen the greater environmental movement. They estimate that over 8 million environmentalists did not vote in the 2020 presidential election and over 12 million skipped the 2018 midterms. They take a nonpartisan approach to focus on a simple, high-leverage solution to this problem.
Browning the Green Space
Browning the Green Space is a hub of cross-sector leaders striving to advance Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in clean energy and beyond. They were born from the realization that people of color often receive more than their fair share of “environmental bads” like brownfields, pollution, and asthma while they receive less than their fair share of “environmental goods” like cleantech jobs in energy efficiency, renewable energy, water, wasted food, and urban farming.
We're beyond thrilled to support these incredible non-profits in their efforts to create a just and equitable environment for all. Are you interested in joining Climate People in supporting one of these non-profits? View our current job openings to find your dream ClimateTech role!
